Vision
The City of Pikeville Exposition Center Corporation is a linchpin in transforming our region, allowing the arts, amateur sports, and tourism to flourish, and be seen as essential to a thriving economy and an equitable society.
Values
COPECC values public investment in the tourism, arts and entertainment sectors. By promoting growth in these areas, they are viewed by the public as vital to a healthy civic life, a robust contributor to public discourse, while building leverage for private investment in the region.
COPECC sees tourism as a vital piece in the rebranding of the area and a major component in diversifying the region’s economy.
COPECC supports amplifying the voices of artists as leaders in our organization, in the arts sector, in the economy, and in the community.
COPECC values an equitable, diverse, and inclusive world, which we interpret as all people having fair access to the tools and resources they need to realize creative and community endeavors. We acknowledge structural inequities that have excluded individuals and communities from opportunity based on race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, class, age, and geography, and strive to counter those inequities in our work.
COPECC values the interdependence of the arts, tourism, entertainment, and the local economy, and that they are all essential to a wholistic, equitable vision of community vitality.
COPECC values our partnerships with the National Endowment for the Arts, the Kentucky Arts Council, Kentucky Heritage, University of Pikeville, Big Sandy Community and Technical College, local government, and business leaders, which enables alignment of resources and strategies that lead to greater effectiveness.
